RE: 600 mod/ 800 stock rule

our rules are pretty much the same as last year as it pertains to the 5 year pro rule and 10 year semi pro rule with regards to the plastic on the sleds so I don't know what all the gripe is about, as a member I support the IWA rules a 110 percent. Everyone is entitled to their opinions but lets not make this personnel, bottom line is with all these posts it just shows how passionate everyone is about water X racing and like every sport you are not going to make everyone happy no matter what is done.

RE: 600 mod/ 800 stock rule

the changes for the pro stock 800 class as follows which should be voted upon
1. mod motor up to 600cc
2. mod chassis rules for whatever motor you are running aka either 600 mod or 601cc to 800 cc stock
3.for stock 800 drags the same rules will apply as mentioned above as some drivers let other people run their sled in drags, and as always stock drags are for semi pro drivers only as per the current rules
this is as simple as it gets, all tech has to do is determine the motor you are running which they already do so this will not add anything to it
as for a name change for the class it can probably stay the same but that is a very minor detail because we need to keep it simple and this is as simple as it gets.

RE: 600 mod/ 800 stock rule

Derrick Mc Pheeters, Jon Novotany, Jr., and Matt said the only way he will run in that class again will be with a 600 mod, plus not to mention all the guys from out east, them ones alone will increase the class which in turn will help generate more revenue for the IWA in class entry fees and membership dues to help ensure long term growth and stability for the sport itself, this new rule will not make anything obsolete, it gives drivers more options on motors and chassis that fit there budget with the slow economy, and has the high potential for better competition, I respect what you have to say Mark and understand where your coming from but has anyone said they would stop running in that particular class if mod 600 is added to it? if there is please speak up.

RE: 600 mod/ 800 stock rule

I have heard of more racers that will join the class with 600 mod in it, I have yet to hear 1 person say they would quit the class if 600 mod got added to it that currently runs the class full time.

RE: 600 mod/ 800 stock rule

Very good input MIke and Shawn those are some great suggestions, the main goal is to make the competition better, keeping sleds current and trying to keep cost to a minimal.

RE: 600 mod/ 800 stock rule

yeah current plastic and pro stock class only to add the mod 600 to, I think that is what everyone is talking about Kenny that i have been talking to is to try it in the pro class for a couple of years before deciding to add it to the semi pro class, this is a big decision and all input is welcomed on this topic

RE: 600 mod/ 800 stock rule

Sam I know you are laughing but this is why snowmobile company's have the 600 as there biggest seller. People decided the 600's were fast enough.
I would agree with you, but in our trailer are 4 stockers and they are all 700's and 800's so we would quit all together. As Mike D said the money is not out there. The straight 600 program will not work as it takes out to many drivers.
I wasn't really serious about the speed thing, I for one do not want to make any current equipment obsolete, like Kenny and Mike say add 600 mod to the Pro Stock 800 class only which gives people the most options on what they can run and when semi pro drivers want to move up it gives them a choices to on what they can run and not limit them to just a stock sled.

RE: 600 mod/ 800 stock rule

from a safety stand point because all the sleds are going so fast maybe be we should have stock 600 and mod 600 and eliminate 800's all togethor
